An Educational Ontology based on Metadata Standards

In this paper, we present EUME Onto, an educational ontology that describe terms of learning design, contents and resources. This ontology is intended to (1) organize the available information; and (2) provide the grounds of the knowledge based for an Intelligent Learning Management System. EUME Onto is based on metadata standards such as IMSEML, LOM 1484, OASIS DocBook and FIPA Ontology Devices. To reduce implementation efforts, the WebODE platform, a scalable and integrated workbench for ontological engineering, has been used.
